about

The lyrics are more conceptual rather that having a particular meaning. Written on an acoustic guitar before before developing the track as it exist now. Studio experimentation is very prominent and also pays homage to a huge influence and hero for me. If you guess it, just know that it sounds that way on purpose. Song also names drops my biggest influence, singer-songwriter Glen Hansard and clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson.

lyrics

Verse
Locked inside of everything that I see
in fear of the dream that could be me
look myself into the eye, and I start to realize
locked inside of everything that is me

Verse
What is there to be from you to me
love inside your eyes to say the least
Hansards records on repeat, justifies atrocities
set in stone and made by you to me

Chorus
I can feel it on the tip of my tongue
all the words in my way
I can feel it coming out of my eyes
just like the poison in my brain
poison in my vain

Verse
Peterson's words still ring true today
do not change your mind and stay astray
rust away and left behind, a heart that did forget the mind
Peterson's words still ring true today

Verse
Life you thought was everything went away
turned out to be all in vane in a day
youth portrayed like precious gold
waiting to be bought and sold
took the knife inside and sealed its fate

Chorus
I can feel it on the tip of my tongue
all the words in my way
I can feel it coming out of my eyes
just like the poison in my brain
poison in my vain

Chorus
I can feel it on the tip of my tongue
all the words in my way
I can feel it coming out of my eyes
just like the poison in my brain
poison in my vain

Verse
What is there to be from you to me
love inside your eyes to say the least
Hansards records on repeat, justifies atrocities
set in stone and made by you to me

Verse
Life you thought was everything went away
turned out to be all in vane in a day
youth portrayed like precious gold
waiting to be bought and sold
took the knife inside and sealed its fate

Chorus
I can feel it on the tip of my tongue
all the words in my way
I can feel it coming out of my eyes
just like the poison in my brain
poison in my vain

(In the height of emotion, its not always easy to stop and think things through. But if you'll, if you you'll just slow down the rush and pressure you're feeling, a little. Then judgement has a better chance to take hold)
